Lakota Sweat Lodge Ceremony

Archan Sramek and Benjamin Talbot

Archan Sramek and Benjamin Talbot will present a program on the Lakota Sweat Lodge Ceremony at 6:30 PM on Wednesday evening, February 19,2020 at the monthly meeting evening of the Rock River Archaeological Society. The program takes place at the Horicon Marsh Education and Visitor Center, N7725 Hwy. 28, Horican, WI, 53032. The doors open at 6:00 PM and the event takes place in the lower level of the Center, accessible by elevator or stairs.

The Sweat Lodge Ceremony is a “Rite of Purification” for those who attend it. Native Americans use the ceremony to give thanks, to heal, to seek wisdom, and to purify the mind, body and soul. Benjamin and Archan will delight in telling you “first hand” about the Sweat Lodge Ceremony. It will be a program that will bring us closer to our Native American brothers, who were known to have a great respect for what they called “Mother Earth”. There will be time after the program to answer any questions.
Archan grew up on a farm near Columbus, WI, and has become one of 11,000 Climate Reality Leaders around the globe. She and Benjamin are very close to nature and Native Americans. They personally raise money to help Native American young people go to school to become nurses and health care providers. Their program will be an inspiration to all who hear it.

Refreshments are served after the program and all are invited to stay. The public is invited to this FREE program. For further information one may call 920-928-6094 or email julieflemming@yahoo.com.
